    Re: Nuc/Bee business plan?

I'm starting down the same road you're on. My recommendation I have is take a good look at a local Small Business Development Center. They can help work you through the business plan. I tacked on 20%...

Re: Bear Almost Got Em-Lesson Learned

The electric fence is a good way too go. Since the bear got a taste for your bees- he or she will be back. I would consider putting one hot wire on the outside of the fence exclosure and baiting it...

Re: Double Nuc Box Feeder Advice Needed

Did you look in the paint section at Home Depot or Lowe's?

In one of the other posts, Lowe's has food grade plastic pails.

    Re: Good synthetic gloves?

I'm going to be trying out Atlas work gloves. They have a rubberized palm for a good grip. The dexterity is also good. When they get dirty or sweaty you can wash them. I'm pretty certain bees can...

Double Nuc Box Feeder Advice Needed

I'm going to be starting with Double Nuc Boxes this summer. The design is a divided deep hive body, except the entrances are on the same side.

I'm looking for feeders for these nuc boxes.

    I've...
  13. Re: What are the limits to growth? Expanding apiary.

As Mike mentioned above expense will be a big factor. As I developed my business plan I quickly realized I needed to reduce my expansion rate. If you're plan is to make this a business, I would...

    Re: Dewalt Stapler for frames?

Used the stapler and the jig today to assemble over 200 frames.

    Worked Great!
  18. Re: Framing made simple for 2014? NEW 18ga .25" up 1.5" stapler without compressor!?

I picked up a nice Porter- Cable 18 gauge Stapler and Compressor for under $200 on Amazon.

    Re: High Elevation Beekeeping?

A couple of new sites I'm looking at either have full sun and full force wind or less sun and less wind. Our strong winds in the front range come out of the SW.

Right now I'm planning for full sun...

    Re: High Elevation Beekeeping?

I joined and I will be at next months meeting. Are you near PS? The area I live in is very open so the bears don't like the wide open space. I still plan on a full electric fence setup.
