    Re: Hello everyone

If it's free of contaminations ( sugar syrup honey, chemical treatments, brood comb) you could eat it but if you're planning on making increases I'd just give it back to the bees. It would be a great...

    Re: April bees arrive

I would go with doc's version but after 3 days if she's not out yet I use a small nail and put a hole in the candy. I put the cage in the middle since that's where you want her to start laying and...

    Re: winter feeding

your stronger hives will consume the honey faster
  11. Re: Left empty honey supers on (for cleaning) too long!

I would put them back on on top of the inner cover. I've heard they're suppose to clean it out and take it down below into thier hive.

Thanks Jim; When I installed my Italians this spring they've had the tell tale signs of nosema...tan blotches all over the hive and my suit. The experienced beekeepers said not to worry that it was...

    Chemical treatment

I think this is my fifth year at bees but I still consider myself a newbee because I've only have had two hives so far to make it through the winter. I haven't used any chemicals as of yet but that's...
