Been there, done that Jim (used a Cowen spinner for a few years). Have had a spin float now for about 4 years. I don't have to push it too hard and always let the honey set for a day or two before...

Vicor (Happybees) is sending a load up here to a friend of mine for the honey season. Hopefully it will be profitable for everyone. Looking better as we have received some substantial rain over the...
No one else from ND is chiming in so I guess it's up to me :).
First off, I was actually looking for a load to lease when Victor posted this, and did talk to him. Wound up getting a load from...
Looking to lease a semi load of bees for the 2013 North Dakota honey season. If interested, or know anyone who might be interested, please contact me at 701-258-7682. Thanks.
Yeah, Chip. Spring, what spring? My load was supposed to leave CA on Sunday, obviously that got delayed. Will be at least a couple of weeks. Hopefully the moisture will pay off.
Hummerbee.
Helps a lot to have a level loading area though. Mine is not the greatest so it is slow going in areas, esecially stacking them up and moving in position to load the truck.
I was wondering the same thing gs.
I load stacks of 4 pallets high (story & a half) at a time on the truck.
Only 9 years here (12/21/2003).
Yes. Know it would be an issue compared to my little 1 ton. Friend of mine has a F-450 with a 16' bed; took it to CA one year; really had to adjust to the turning radius with that thing (takes...
Right, Mark. Thinking a 16' bed would allow room for fume boards or other "stuff" when pulling honey; 4 rows of honey pallets would leave a little extra room on the back.
I have an '05 GMC 3500 Duramax, 12' bed; no major problems but only around 70,000 miles (one "minor" problem: fuel transfer pump, transfers fuel between tanks, quit working on way back from CA last...
I sell them for $15 with frame (foundation) exchange, $16 with no frame exchange.
Bison win FCS championship!!!! 17-6 over Sam Houston State.
700.
Generally only time I reverse boxes is with nucs that were made up in the spring, usually just before or when honey supers are being put on. I run story & half hives (deep + medium, usually...
Love seeing old beekeeping pictures like that Jim, thanks for sharing!
Bison win again!!! Beat Georgia Southern 35 - 7 to advance to the FCS Championship game against Sam Houston State in Frisco, TX on January 7. Debating whether I want to travel down there for the...
Hmmm, think I have about 2,300 medium (6 & 5/8") supers.
I generally pull honey twice during the season here, one round end of July/early August and then strip them down in early September.
Hey Moon, I have a Cowen silver queen uncapper, Cowen wax collection system, Cowen 60 frame extractor (no air ram), a progressive cavity pump, heat exchange unit and spin-float from Cook & Beals,...
Bison win, 24 - 0 over Lehigh!!! Host Georgia Southern next weekend in the semifinals of the FCS.
Unfortunately, no, Slow Modem. The Bison play inside in the Fargodome.
Absolutely. I absolutely hate all this BCS crap and will never follow college football at this level until they have a playoff system. Now, on the other hand, we are in the middle of the FCS...
I haven't had to hire any help (yet). I do virtually all the bee work and the family helps at extracting time (though that may be changing soon, as kids are 20, 18, & 17). Don't know if the wife &...
