    I think the advantage of a simple shake out is,
    its the quickest way to salvage what resources are left of a once queen right colony.
    and put what is left back to work for your apiary.

    i recall hearing some one say once on a you tube vid that the queen generally does not like to get more than 18 inches or so from the entrance.

    after the queen cells failed. I bought the queen and introduced her.
    I think they might have started some more .
    BUT ! wont they tear them down if there is a new queen present.
