    I have noticed that when I am near the hives with a mower or a weedeater they come out aggressive. So I no longer use the 4 wheeler to visit the hives and have had a much more pleasant reception....

    Why not? if the weather is mild enough and the hive is active enough I would do it. It is likely more dangerous to wait too long than start too early. Maybe transition them to deeps, though.

    Can't find the queen
