    Re: Apiary Registration

No tax on livestock here. But a small registry fee per apiary location to help prevent encroachment by other beeks seems a small price to pay.

    Re: Apiary Registration

What I don't understand is that many of the larger operations in the state are opposed to any registry programs. They may not be the perfect answer but I just don't see the downside to these...

    Re: Maxant bottling tank?

We have two 25 gallon Maxant tanks and one 80 gallon Kelly tank. They all work but the Maxant construction quality is way ahead of the Kelly.

    Re: Pumps and feeding

The tank already had a 3/4 drain plug that I replaced with a ballvalve and hose connector. I fill with an electric pump out of totes. The tank sits in the bed of my 1 ton.

I use a 150 gallon propane tank. I changed out top fittings to a ball valve to fill thru and another hole has pressure guage and quick coupler for air hookup. I attached a 3/4 garden hose to drain...

Re: When to harvest queen cells

You also have to take season into account. I start grafting in March and quit late June. As the temp increases the cells will emerge sooner.

Before you start cutting. Drop the handle to the lowest position, then bend the handle upwards slightly so that the frame holder will drop all the way down.
