I am having the same problem this year with two foundationless hives. They are even starting the comb at the bottom of the frame! Big mess. I will harvest as Bush said and invert super pulling outer...
I have 3 hive and I just crush and strain. Although I go foundationless. Less equipment to store/up keep.
What happens when you extract honey from a a frame that has brood in it?

I spread it out on a cookie sheet set out by the hives and let the bees clean it. In a couple of days it is clean, the bees got free food and if it is in the sun the wax will be bleached.
I agree with beemandan. Don't make things more difficult than they are.
Aluminum flashing from the roofing dept. at hardware store works good for covers..........and cheap
Are you still looking for cranberry blossom honey?
I thought this was beesource. I can go else where and read about that. But I would not.
To use the boiled linseed oil/beeswax mixture, apply like any other oil finish. Apply liberally and keep working the "pooled" areas onto the areas that are
soaking it up and appear "dry". Keep doing...
