Hey Michael, I was gonna be putting them into pollination in 3-4 weeks. I found someone else to take care of my growers this year.
I will find out on Sunday if I am able to put a deal together for Tuesday. I will be picking up 25 hives worth of bees and brood. So for things to work out I will need 25 queens to ship out...
Ed is great to deal with, both honest and helpful. After a few email's back and forth I decided to give his 2 frame a try. This unit seems like it will last a good long time. Comes 90% assembled, you...
Anybody whose bought one of these care to comment on them?
On the off chance someone is Up-sizing as I am down-sizing.
I need a small stainless extractor, probably 4 frame. Could be manual or electric, but no Chinese junk.
Price depends on what is...
I have read a study that showed swarm bees given any drawn comb do not draw as much comb as a swarm that has to build everything on their own. I give only foundation, and upon hiving them I put a...
Let's ruin any trust we have with the public! If people want crap honey they can get it at walmart.
I do a small out of the way (not in the barrens) blueberry job each year. Very different from yours. Plants are the same but we move hives 12 at a time in a pickup truck.
I have a European hive that won't let you walk through the bee yard. They are 4 weeks out from a change of queen, but you still get 300-500 around your face if you dare to get too close. Closing...
I would put the chances that they are trying to swarm at close to zero, there are not enough bees there to swarm. Trust the bees to know what needs doing (in this instance).
Yes, you could do it in the middle of winter and there would be no problem, other than that if your gonna do it take video so others can see what happens :lpf:
I hope when/if tragedy befalls you, no one cuts you any slack either.
If your building them yourself you don't need to make finger joints, the main reason boxes are done that way is so they can be assembled by anyone without knowledge or tools. You are faster and...
When he decides it's just not worth the BS to sell queens to hobby beekeepers, you guys are really gonna lose a great resource. I for 1 could not be happier in my dealings with Doctor Russell. He is...
Maine is a great place to keep bees, really no issues unless your down in southern Maine. I spent most of my life in FL and my end up there again. Just thought I would post for the FL crowd.

You are not selling the same product as sue bee, so that price is irrelavent.
Where to start, no most honey is priced/sold by the pound then the products are labeled in ounces. Honey is heavier than water. It just sounds like you are over thinking things. Choose a jar that...
I always thought transporting would be the issue.
how does one become a member?
For once I don't mind hijacking a thread. Robert, could you give your thoughts on my post #76. Would you expect that to be the norm?
Brac
2 feet or 2 miles.
Proximity to AFB, does not necessarily mean you will get AFB. 2 years ago a neighbor of mine less than 1/4 from my home yard, had 2 hives out of 4 that had bad AFB infections, both were robbed out, I...
I think it really sucks that Robert is constantly having to defend himself, as a beekeeper. I have mor to say about it but it would probably get deleted!
You gotta ask the girls, real nice like.
