  1. Re: How can I make hive boxes that are perfectly stackable-a necessary requirement.

I just make sure my equipment is cutting square and if not, adjust it. just the other day i made up a bunch, rocking boxes is just something i don't have a lot of problems with. It is probably like...

    Re: How exact?

I made nucs last night. i use a scrap piece of the 3/4" lumber to get the 3/8" rabbets depths exact. cut from scrap piece from either side until the cuts almost touch each other.

Re: No food taste better than your own

I did Jalapeno poppers [cream cheese, bacon], fresh sweet corn and butter, and sun ripened tomatoes. Tonight this was great tonight. but may be painful tomorrow. but yum.

    Re: How Much Effort

What i really need to do is sit down with pen and paper and design a realistic plan. then stick to the plan. however like you said Daniel you need money to make resources and bees to make money.

    I appreciate the answers.

  15. Re: Same hive Multi-Queens with multi-excluders on?

I made a 3/4" shim that has 4 exists that sits on a 10 frame SBB, then place the 10 frame box on the shim and use upto 4 dividers to make nucs.
Gave this alot of thought, i did not want to make, buy...

    Re: making rabbets with router

probably a straight bit. i use a dado blade, but the rabbets are the same. 3/8"x3/8" on the edges and 3/8"x5/8" for the frame rail to sit on. maybe a 1/2 or 5/8 straight bit.

I also noticed on the ditch banks what appeared to be goldenrod and was going to ask some other beekeepers if was. seems rather early.

  22. Re: What's your strategy for growing your apiaries?

  24. Re: Thoughts about keeping one full honey super on all winter

you sure it was the cold that killed the bees and not condensation. I had condensation issues for two winters until i got smart.

Re: Do bees move stores around

I was under the assumption they bring in resources and the resources get put in a temporary spot, lets say the second box. then at a later time they move the resource to the third box.
