If you must feed the nucs then you must feed all colonies that are close enough to rob the nucs.

    Re: Spraying for Ticks/Lawn Ferilizer

Move your bees out and kill the ticks then move the bees back in after the residual is gone. It's that simple.

I just returned from orlando an hour ago. A wildlife officer told me that some of the "traps" are bat houses.

I think you should just meet the people face to face with your action plan. That way they can describe to the rest who you are.

  16. Re: going rate for pollination of Alfalfa going to seed

Rwurster I would guess the average would be 70 lbs. honey bees would rather work easier plants that alfalfa. A big factor is the weather. Too cold, no nectar. Too dry no nectar.
  17. Re: going rate for pollination of Alfalfa going to seed

James, knock on wood, I don't have any unexpected losses overwintering outside. The next six weeks will be prime time for hive losses.
  18. Re: going rate for pollination of Alfalfa going to seed

Ok, here we go. I have my own bees on my own alfalfa that I seeded myself. I don't have a bug problem here so insecticide was sprayed. I can tell you with 100% certainty that I have not had any...
  19. Re: Sundance Pollen Trap | Kelly's / BM / BetterBee

Sundance traps only remove 50% of the pollen coming in. You don't need to worry about the bees not keeping pollen for their own use.
