Burn sulfur in a shipping container. No need for any licences.
  3. Re: Where do you take the bees after almonds if you summer in Montana or Dakotas

After almonds we will place into prunes and split. Then they go into cherries then double set onto Apples and pears. Good luck sticking your foot into Washington pollination. Very tight. We produce...

I build bees on both but prefer fructose. If your building bees you need to think more about sub not syrup.

    Re: re-queening strong hives

I have placed cells on the last frame in brood nest with good success. The cell is hidden in the honey.

    Mesh Transport Bag

Anyone know of a good source for mesh bags that fit over a 5 frame nuc. Cardboard boxes aren't bee proof and we have lots of new customers.

    Re: Mobile cell incubator kit?

I have a incubator made with the 12v system. Doesnt get much use but for long trips it works alright. A few bottles of hot water in a cooler work just as well.

    Re: Bottom board usage?

I keep by bottoms around for Cells starters and swarms. Also, if you ever decide to sell off some hives with equipment, the bottoms come in use .

Re: who hauls their own bees on their own semi

Might want to look at a straight truck with a sleeper 27 ft plus an additional western hay trailer 26'. Easier to get in and out of tight places than a 48' flatbed semi.

I feed mostly HFCS and prosweet blend of sucrose and fructose. I see no difference in stimulation or winter survival rates.

I've never seen a 6-8 frame Hive boil out to where the forks were smashing Handfuls of bees. Hives with beards in 2 boxes are usually 20+ frames and ready to swarm.
