  9. Performed artificial swarm…swarmed anyway

Found several capped swarm cells on 2 or 3 frames in the top brood box of one of my strong hives on May 7th. Performed an artificial swarm by moving the queen and 3 frames of brood, pollen, and honey...

  12. Re: Introducing queen to recently installed package

Thanks for the advice…think I'll give them another week or so then inspect again for eggs, larvae or queen…if there is a virgin I suspect there is a chance she could still get mated…maybe they will...
  13. Introducing queen to recently installed package

I installed a package of bees last week and apparently they killed the queen when she was released. Upon first inspection she was no where to be found…no eggs, no larvae...the supplier will replace...

    Bee space issue or other?

One of my hives continues to build comb between the hive bodies. This makes pulling frames and inspection difficult. The set up is two deep (10 frame) hive bodies under a 10 frame medium honey super...
