I dont see much of a problem as well, I do use 3/4" but have them reduced to about 3/4"-1". G
Iput the robber screens on until things quieted down, then just left the entrance reduced to about 3/4"-1". G
I had a VSH open mated daughters, daughter come back like that, not quite as dark but nearly, she is one of my best layers now, and one of my tidiest colonies. G

Everything Rader said. Scrap lumber makes great boxes. Frames are cheap. Bottoms and tops can be made for a fraction of the cost. I started with 2 and had one come spring. Glad...

I agree, unless you have a giant area with only one nectar crop you really cant call anything a specific honey, I said poplar, because thats what blooms first here and there is a strong flow, strong...
