    I use the election signs and just run a spacer down the center of the bottom board so the entrances are right next to each other. I then cut odd shapes out of different colored signs and pin one...

    I did look at the sketch very closely and your right detail D does show hex headed screws, but detail C and E show ring shank nails with a washer. They also show that nail in the center of a rib.

    The op also asked about the walls. On the wall the girt is vertical giving you 5 1/2 inches to hit so predrilling is no issue. Never predrill the roof, you snap lines from purlin end to purlin end...
