    I like having bees around, they are kinda like pets only they don't need near as much tending to. Don't mind getting stung occasionally.

    As a newbie who was considering keeping bees 2 years ago the thought of having to be somewhat of a Veterinarian also had never crossed my mind.

    My bees were out yesterday almost 30*F and sunny. Lots of brown/red snow in front of both hives. Have a 3 sided wind break around the hives so it may have felt like 40* to them.

    buying package bees to put in them.
    Once i started buying nucs which typically come with deep frames i had to buy some some 8 frame...

    I put some foundationless frames in a couple supers of 2 hives this summer for the sole reason of taking some natural comb honey in the fall.

    20 below zero last night, high of 5*F today. Been rough sledding lately,
    not only cold but wind blew everything off that wasn't tied down.
