    That's what I did about 1 month ago. Took the top deep off set it next to the orginal made sure there were eggs in the deep and today it is queenright and thriving. Called a walk away split.

    If it's plastic foundation try all wax foundation. Mine were very reluctant with plastic switched to all wax and they went crazy. My 2 cents.

    Mine hated the plastic foundation, they would not draw it out, I switched to all wax foundation and bingo they went nuts. My 2 cents.

    All my frames in both brood boxes are wax foundation. They just would not draw out the plastic foundation for some reason beyond me. As soon as I switched they went crazy.
