    This is our first year and we have one super that is filling but not capped at all yet. I'd says it is half full of nectar or more.

    Think they will have it ready in two weeks? Give or take of...

    honey storage observation

    when looking in one of our hives we found that the bees have half filled / wax capped most of the brood nest with honey, while the super has about half filled but nothing capped.

    is this normal...

    what was flowinga couple weeks ago seems to have stopped. the hive is consuming honey that they stored to build out new comb up top and not much coming in. Lots of new orange and yellow pollen...

    fermentation is directly related to the availability of wild yeasts to do the fermenting. you could always take a jar and dump some nottingham yeast in see if it ferments.

    Awesome. Be we're able to get a queen from billlbee. I think we are going to try his vsh queens to requeen 1 hive that isn't doing too hot.

    cant help you with the flow times but just fyi, they will always take sugar. make sure you stop feeding if a flow does start as you dont want sugar / water / honey

    Yes I love my Gilman nucs. 1 is doing great. 1 is queen less but still hanging on. A package we bought is pulling up the rear but didn't get that from Gilman.

    like the title says, we need a queen. located in ct so hoping for something of a northern queen.

    we had the hive make queen cells but it looks like she failed to mate or come home as there are...
