    Bee Happy If you use anything with Paradichlorobenzene in it you will have residues in your honey for many years.

    It's illegal here in NZ to use this chemical and all honey is tested for it.

    Bill you've been putting too much smoke on them they only need a small puff at the entrance and a couple of puffs over the top of the bars when you open them. Just little puffs not billowing smoke :D...

    Bill in my opinion you can open your bees as much as you like taking the waether into account of course.
    I dont see that it does them any harm at all especially when they are on a flow and too busy...
