  1. Re: Transporting hives to pollination jobs w/o a forklift

Here is a 28' trailer I built that has 36 hives mounted on it. The Hitch is removable to prevent theft. Very easy to move the bees quickly. Row of supers fit down the middle.
  2. Re: Transporting hives to pollination jobs w/o a forklift

The welder cut the whole deck and tilted it to make it "easy" on the bees. I am going to have him undo that. It puts the load too far out when trying to manhandle the cart up the ramp. I would stay...
  3. Re: Transporting hives to pollination jobs w/o a forklift

We run a deep and a medium. Pull all honey before you move. I have moved deep and medium with partial honey. If you dont have much honey in the top deeps its possible. Also, make sure you jack the...
  4. Re: Transporting hives to pollination jobs w/o a forklift

The square tube helps to stabilize the pallet when tipping it back.

This is the best we have been able to come up with yet. Just a Harbor Freight extra wide dolly modified by my welder.
  6. Re: Transporting hives to pollination jobs w/o a forklift

The best thing I have come up with is two hive pallets. A Dolly modified to carry them, and a 20' trailer with a drop ramp. We just moved 20 hives....it took about 10 minutes to roll 20 hives on the...

  9. Re: Does anyone use sanitizer on their jars when bottling?

The jars I am using are new. For example muth jars from Blue sky. They are packaged in boxes but I wouldn't say they are "Sealed". So dirt, dust etc could get in them during shipping. Also, i have...
  10. Does anyone use sanitizer on their jars when bottling?

For those who bottle in a commercial settling and let's say over a 1000 jars a year, how do you sanitize your jars before bottling? I picked up some stuff called sanstar from the brew supply house...

    CuNap Wood Treatment

I saw this in Mann Lake catalog and wondered if anyone was dipping their hive bodies in this stuff?

One would think if Mann Lake was selling it would be safe but I wondered how the bees handled it...

My buddy and I ordered buckfast cells from Miksa last year. My buddy who lives more in the country had his go hot. The drones he would be for using mating would be hotter, close to africanized. Mine...

    Temp of capped brood.

I have always heard that uncapped eggs/larvae needs to be @95 degrees to live. What's does the temp need to be maintained for the capped brood to live?

It uses steam from a steam generator. I purchased a small one used for bending wood. Here is what I purchased:

    Re: Honey Paw Uncapper

I got one. It was a little complicated to get the funds wired to their bank but it arrived a week after I paid for it. It works great. After uncapping 9 supers there is less than 1 shot glass of wax...

I zoomed in on the pic and it looks like they do but I'll look at the plant tonight. Does foxglove seed naturally?
  24. Re: Anyone know what this flower is .......Texas unmowed area? Bees are working it.

I know it is a lupin....what specific one. Texas Bluebonnets are lupins but it is not a Bluebonnet.
