    Re: Avoiding after swarms

Some hives will throw several after swarms and swam themselves to death others will swarm 1 time and that is all it is all about genetics and strength

This time of year I get a lot of them calls
  10. Re: Large Swarm Update

KEEP FEEDING UNTIL THEY QUIT TAKING IT
  11. Re: Why do I have a growing pile of dead bees in front of what looks like a healthy h

Could also bee a math problem. Queen lays 2000-2500 eggs per day so at end of life cycle that many could bee dead per day.

Re: Second Cutout coming this weekend!

If it were me and I might also add I live in town. I would crush and strain then jar it up put a empty box on top of hive and feed inside of the hive no robbing at all when done this way.

    Re: All this rain...

I would have to agree that it is a good thing. But if you have any weak nucs or swarms just trying to build up you better feed them.

Re: Queen Cells: Swarming or Dead Queen?

I would check for a laying queen or at least a virgin this weekend.
  17. Re: Tree cut down - log with bees now in back yard

If that queen is alive you will be lucky. My luck has been tree is cut or gets blown down queen is crushed between combs.

Re: Question about a new swarm

Small swarm could be a virgin she will need to fly to mate keep her locked in to long and she is a drone layer and hive is doomed.

    Re: TF genetics

AH TO GO BACK TO Pre mites I would have 50 hives and working bees all day every day.
  24. Re: Put 2nd Box with Foundationless Frames on Today - What to Expect?

It is that simple. This is or was a 5 frame nuc and there is a really good flow going Right now AGAIN I STRESS NUC JUST LIKE A SWARM. I am only 90 to 100 mile south of him. He has about 4-5 weeks of...
  25. Re: Put 2nd Box with Foundationless Frames on Today - What to Expect?

DO THIS and think. Add the new box and frames under the old. When bees swarm and move into there brand new digs where do they start there comb building at TOP or bottom. TOP and they build down to...
