Should be almost 50 when home in 30 minutes. The ride won't make them to agitated?
On way home with 2 nucs . Should I hive tonight after ride or tomorrow morning or after work about 6pm. Supposed to be cold tonight. If tomorrow I assume I should open and let fly? Thanks for any...
Sounds like a plan thanks
So when the hive is stronger and the temp is stable ( June, July, aug.,) use sbb on open hive stand. Or put ply on stand so while sbb is on there is the ply 3"-4" below ond open to beard back?
If using a screened bottom on a stand 10" or so off the ground should I put plywood on the stand or leave it open to the ground? The stand is a rectangle with support for the perimeter of the hive....

What smoker would you all recommend. I will have 2 hives and never plan on having more than 3-5? See many different prices some different sizes and styles. Also same question for hive tool. Thanks...
That's even better as long as I can do it.what about if your bees are fairly calm doing it during daytime? Will this get them mad and make them more agresive toward protecting the hive
I was hoping to leave grass around my hives. Thought I would cut as close as possible without making them mad and finishing up in a little darkness with a weed wacker. Is this a bad idea?
On the top of the home page there is a button that says get the app. It didnt work for me. Is the app available for the I phone? If it is how can I get it? Thanks
If they don't cover bees they could not cover something else they would normally cover that has nothing to do with bees just because they exist ? I'm nervous to talk to them now but nervous not to...
Getting 2 hives this spring. I live in a residential area in NY. Two people suggested getting a umbrella policy because of the bees. I think they are nuts . Am I right? The hives will be 15' off the...
The one bee hieght and width would be smaller than the 1" opening so should I make a smaller temporary opening? When the hive is much stronger and no reducer should I make something to reduce the...
I built my hives from plans on this sight and they came out awesome. I still need to make an entrance reducer. What should be the size of the openings. Also when starting with a nuc do you still use...

Still have to do the slatted rack and paint then cover the tops with...
I have asked locals and have not found anyone who has used them. I think I will build them and put one give on one and one not . I will have two hives side by side and see if I see a difference. If I...
Another question, I'm almost done . I still have to cover the outer cover and cut the hand holds I also think I'm going to make the slatted racks. The question is about paint, do you just paint the...

My last post I was accidentally looking at last post on page one when I wrote that. As for miller I worry about quality when things are so cheap. The kreg jig is awsome and I thought about using it....
Yes those are the plans from this site I refer to.
Actually the plans are for finger joints I was thinking of other plans I looked at.
Bbarker, thanks that is a confidence booster. I will use the measurements from the plans but may modify a bit to use finger joints. I have not made them before but think I can with a router table ....
Leaning toward building using ideas and measurements from this site. Going to use pine for cost saving and will paint a light natural color. Will definitely buy wood frames and still not sure about...
That looks awsome, and now I'm considering building them out of pine. Gotta think about this
