give a frame of brood/eggs every week, they will raise a queen.. you have drones to mate her it sounds like. every week a frame should keep them from becoming a laying worker hive,also it will keep...

i have lots of drones and drone brood here on the coast.... i haven't noticed any flying as yet.
also, plug up some of those holes in the sides,corners, etc...
i took honey from 4 of my hives yesterday.... whew !!! (my aching back) i got 1 deep,2 meds,and 5 shallow supers of crystal clear honey !! was pleasantly suprised to find NO brood in them, first...

was it capped brood or drone brood ? if it was just drone brood, it sounds like a laying worker hive.... if so, i would do a shake out and combine the two. later, you can split them back up
