Re: Honey Not Quite Ready to Harvest

Thanks for the additional advice. I have the 2 supers in my closet with a dehumidifier. It is presently 80F and 35% humidity in there. I'll check on the honey this evening and see if I need to...

Re: Honey Not Quite Ready to Harvest

The root question I have here is why a super that has had nectar in it since June has not been adequately dried. Is this a sign of sick bees, bad genes, bad weather, or something else. I checked...

Re: Honey Not Quite Ready to Harvest

Thanks to all for your advice. I particularly appreciate some of the more practical inputs. I'll see if I can keep my boots dry when shaking the frames. :) I also have access to a refractometer...

Thanks to all. I'm glad to be here.
  10. Re: How do I deal with honey robbing from 'foreign' bees?

Thanks, Oldtimer! I'm already down to two deeps. It is still way too much for the number of bees I have. I think I'm going to reduce it down to a single deep and then remove frames if I still...

Thanks! Great paper with many good tips. I appreciate your help.
  12. How do I deal with honey robbing from 'foreign' bees?

Can anyone provide advice on how to help stop honey robbing? I suspect that they have taken at least 60 pounds of honey so far & possibly much more. There is a lot of chaotic flying and a bees...
