Barry,
Since it is public information why don't you share it with all of us. I like to base my opinions on facts with supporting documentation. Thanks
So what did you find out?
Contact Serge at Russell Apiaries Washington website. He is planning on offering some locally acclimated over-wintered 5 frame nucs from carniolan based stock.

Quick! Somebody put a lock on this thread so Mike can get his book done! So what can we all do to make sure the crick doesn't overflow? Pray!
Do you have any partially filled brood combs from another hive that you could replace a couple of full frames with? Ideally in our area you want the two outside frames full and at least a two inch...

Russells have always responded to my pm's & emails. Queen quality is good. Sucessfully introduced 23 out of 24 queens. What do you suspect for such poor queen survival & introduction?

Ace, sorry to hear of your loss. The good...
As wet as it is in Oregon City the living room is the only place "dry" enough for drawn frame storage :lpf:
My wife is an accountant & she "ORDERS" me to my day job every morning, especially when I bring up the topic of buying more bee stuff :D
I'll ask her when she is in a good mood :lpf:
I bought 20 10 frame singles in april for $100 each. All good drawn comb with 7-8 frames of bees & 2010 vsh queens.
Hawkster,
Maybe to speed things up you could retrofit a chain uncapper with bristle brushes. It shouldn't bee too hard to retrain the bees since you have already to your current mite grooming...
Just how prevelant is afb these days? I've only encountered it in the late 60's when it seemed to be pretty common. My old beekeeper mentor at that time said it was more prevelant in the Italian bees...
WOW! Talk about a "runaway train out of control" thread! First, I have to commend you Robert for standing your ground & defending yourself the way you have. I don't think anyone else could have the...
So R6870, is that the mating yard where my AMMs came from? :D I guess I will find out next week if they are actually MIL bees when my lovely MIL comes to visit. Do you suggest that I giv"em a good...
