This is what I used the last time I smoked. Worked great. Now collecting all old t shirts.
  2. Re: Extractor-less honey by- "Honey Flow"

Oh SNAP! Hope they have a plan for that one.

SNL....I am thinking they hit the 2.5-3 mill mark in less than two weeks. The question is: can you stay up that long?
  3. Re: Extractor-less honey by- "Honey Flow"

I'll bite when they make an app to start the process that I can control with my iphone or ipad. :)

Re: Not all frames are created equal

Are you using a staple gun or hammer and nails? Harbor freight staple gun works really well for frame assembly and it won't break the bank.

    Re: Does pollen imply nectar?

Mine have been bringing in pollen for a few weeks now and started bringing in nectar in the last week. Today I heard what sounded like comb building. They had drawn a little comb Sat when I opened...

    Re: Equipment cost?

You make a good point considering one of my hives welded the frames together inside the hive. Thought it was superglue they had used when I was prying them apart. Glad I had glued and stapled them...

    Re: Equipment cost?

I ordered four hives, foundation, and frames from them last spring. They shipped fast and it was a good experience. I still think shipping is too high. But, I don't think their shipping is any less...

    Re: Equipment cost?

Does Humble Abode ship at reasonable rate? Checked it out and they don't show the shipping until after you have ordered. Just wondering...

    Re: brood, brood, brood

I checked mine today and had, in the stronger hives, 7-8 frames of capped brood and larvae in the top deep. Didn't check the bottom deep as I did not want to stay in there that long. They were...

    Re: Maintaining Copper Hive Top

I would guess it is the citric acid in the KooLaid that cleans it up. I buy citric acid at the Wal Mart canning section to clean stainless grills and tables. Works great for ammo cases too.

    Re: Euthanizing Hives with Mites

I would practice this cull only if I had the entire population of bees to work with worldwide. Otherwise, you are taking the hit for something you cannot change on your own. It will take the entire...

    Re: Queen less maybe?

I saw the same thing today when I popped the cover. They had their abdomen high in the air. This occurred with 10 or so bees that were between the inner cover and the top. I blew on them to get them...
