    Ha ha! Yes those are a given until you forget 1 and have to go get it. Especially if you are in a time crunch. Murphy's law applies to bee keeping. Or perhaps Murphy was a bee keeper too.

    I had Nanking Cherry bloom first. Then Toka Plum. Then Wild Plum. They all got worked by bees. A Forsythia bloomed too but no bees worked it.

    Spring inspection frame layout

    Had time to go through top box of 6 hives. Looking good. Softball to cantaloupe size brood nests but very little brood space remaining. Found a queen on a frame of honey with a few empty cells....

    Red Cedar pollen is blowing here in SW Iowa. Already seen several pollen puffs. But it is yellow to orange. Also seeing Dogwood catkins. Dogwood pollen is white.
