    That's the question I have for the sugar blocks I made for the bees this winter... did the moisture from the cider activate the bacteria and it died in the dehydrator. So far I see no difference...

    I would use ammonium nitrate to introduce them. I get about 70% success with them and this method.

    Not sure I agree, we just need to figure out what to add and when to feed it. I'm going to continue to experiment with my nucs. They respond faster and less loss if I screw up some.

    If they are light I would check them and replenish the sugar the next time it's over 20. Starving bees can't survive no matter what the temp.

    I'm trying it for the first time this winter... half my nucs have it in their sugar blocks. So far the bees look good but can't attribute it to the vitamins.
