Out of curiosity, does anyone know of any vendors selling wax-dipped boxes in New England?

    Re: Feeder Jars

    No.

That, is a great tip. I've tossed too many jars because the lids were cemented on and no amount of hot water and soap would loosen them.

    Re: Shrews!

I use 1/4" hardware cloth stapled over the entrance hole on my shims that I use in the winter.

Bees have no problem exiting. On warm days, they'll even drag dead bees out of the hive through the...

Wimmels, could you provide pictures? I'm guessing a gas burner is similar to a small plumber's torch here in the U.S.

  11. Re: Old topic - Stratiolaelaps to control Varroa, What was the outcome?

Out of curiosity, why would you apply a treatment for phoretic (sp?) mites only once a month? Wouldn't you add the Stratiolaelaps once a week for 3 weeks like an Oxalic Acid vapor treatment?

  16. Re: pollen substitute patties and sugar syrup

I would consult other beekeepers in your area about amount and types of stores needed to over-winter your bees- most of us probably aren't qualified to speak about beekeeping in Northern Africa.
