Not as good as the Wild Turkey w/honey. Had a bad experience with Jack a long time ago, but gave the JD w/honey a shot. Not as sweet as Southern Comfort and still has the prominent sour mash JD...

Where was it that Ive heard that being done before? Oh yeah, never mind. :D
  5. Re: Good Source for queens for my hives in N Georgia

Johnny Thompson aka Broke-T here on this forum is my recommendation for when you decide to buy. I bought some for nucs last year and wound up splitting the nucs again. They respond well to feeding, ...

My fat bees would prefer NUTRABEE Im sure but the importation fees to get across the Mississippi must be into selling a kidney, donating blood range because Ive never saw here yet. So Ive got 40lbs...

Re: My bottled honey seemed to Crystallized

Agreed. One bucket is easier to deal with than a bunch of bears (like what happened to me this year) Ive been placing a few of them at a time in the microwave. Heat them up for a few seconds, shake...

Re: WOW!! just got lit up by my bees!

I did exactly the same thing when I first started with the same end results. I may do away with the full suit the closer it gets to winter, but I still have a smoker and at least a veil even for the...

I would say its exactly the opposite. To me there are more people that are quite solidified in their beliefs that if they ignore a problem such as nosema, mites, etc, they will just magically go...

As someone who practices 'non intervention beekeeping' and would rather them just die than treat, why are you even interested in how its transmitted, prevented, or cured?

    Re: Guard Star

I dont. The frost we had last night should put a pretty good damper on SHB breeding for the year. I will start it back up next Spring. Works good on keeping fireants at bay around the hives as well.

    Re: It's a hand hole, isn't it?

Personally, this suits me just fine. Ive read so many posts that mentions the word 'feral' that I could scream.

Hand hold is my vote-makes the inner cover easier to carry.

Ya'll are still talking about syrup right? All this talk about barrels, hoses, sugar, and propane burners and its beginning to sound like one of my families former endeavors.

    Re: 1.1, 2.1, etc.?

1:1 Spring/Summer ratio and 2:1 Fall/Winter ration. 1:1 is a good comb building mix . 2:1 is used for adding weight to a hives winter stores.

Incredible..no one has any Shb problems that they have never used Checkmite on? I have plenty to get rid of if a person would like to experience the slimed frames themselves.
