    Nice video Vince.
I use a sacrificial fence and have marks for side ,end and nuc and screw the blocks to the fence.
I would not use a shim! Last thing you want is a loose piece of wood near those...

    Re: Inner Covers

Don't block upper ventilation or you might have moisture issues.
I use 50 lb grass seed bags.Others use silt fence. Both allow air and water vapor to move through

Re: Splits -Tips for Finding the Queen

A little smoke top and bottom.Wait a bit.
Put supers off to one side.
Put brood boxes behind the hive on individual over turned covers.
Put a couple of supers back on bottom board.
    Go back and...

Nothing has been said about timing.

Who actually uses clamps on boxes?

I use rabbet joints and box jig and found that the pressure on the staple gun is more than enough.More important is to plan your cuts around warp and twist.Any...

I saw one last summer in Kentucky.

A speed control works well to match the planes temp to honey temp or uncapping speed. When you set the plane down, make sure heating element is up so honey and wax drain away.I'll never give mine up.

Re: Cutting deeps to medium or shallow?

I cut deeps to meds and make more meds from cutoffs.
    2deeps + 1 1/2 shim with frame rests equals 3 meds.
    Trim to 6 5/8.
Funky looking but the bees don't care.
