    Plenty of American Basswood in nurseries in New England. I have a few in my front yard and the bees love them in July when they bloom. I don't see many Japanese Beetles on them.

    I use to subscribe to BeeCulture. I gave up the subscription because of all the free reading and videos on the web. I found the amount of advertising to be way way too much for a paid subscription.

    Welcome! No worries with the rhodys. I have 20 colonies and many rhodys and never seen the honeybees on them. The bumble bees are all over them. We are starting chickens in the spring.

    A miticide is still a pesticide. If it kills it will require EPA registration. Unfortunately, the amount of research involved in getting registration is large. Whats the ROI for the company...
