That would be good to do hive bodies, but you couldn't do inner covers etc.

Re: Move the hives to the bean fields?

Not true. Iowa State University has a paper out on bee's and soybean products. They say with bee's soybeans will gain a 10-40% increase in yield. Reason being is the bee's will pollinate some of the...

    Re: Second Brood Box ?

When I bought my equipment I bought deeps for brood and medium for the supers. I wish I would have gotten all medium. Any new hives I out out from now on will be mediums.

    Re: Second Brood Box ?

I have been inspecting the hive every 8-10 days. Well after I quit feeding 5 days ago and saw they were honey bound plus the start of a supersedure cell with nothing in it, I got nervous. So I took a...

    Re: Second Brood Box ?

I had been feeding till last week. Seemed they had a lot of stores and not much room for new brood. I thought was in taking away the feed they might use up some of the stores and the queen would have...

    Re: Second Brood Box ?

Myself as a new beek its sometimes hard to know what advise to follow. I'm beginning to wonder if putting on the second brood box was a bit premature.

    Re: Oxalic Sublimation Temp?

When I was building my vaporizer I read you don't want it to get over 315 deg. Also make sure the Oxalic does not come in direct contact with the heating device. If you look at the ones you can buy,...

Looking forward to the pictures. I like this and will be doing it myself this winter. With the cost of 1 dead hive you could insulate a lot of hives. I thought at first you were using...

I'm very interested it how you insulated your hives. Can you give any info or pictures? Do you use a screened bottom board and if so did you leave it open or close it?

    Thanks
