  5. Re: First Year Hive with 4 Brood Frames in a 10 Frame Box by August

It almost sounds like to me that you might have lost an original queen and they made another. That would account for low density of bees and what looks like decent brood now. I would put the syrup to...

    Re: some good some bad

Not sure what the mud is, but doesn't sound good. I would get a new queen in there as soon as possible. Possibly you had a infestation of beetles resulting in the "mud" ? Was there moisture in the...

    Re: some good some bad

What was the "wet muddy crap" and what did the brood chamber look like? How old are the hives? Just a few questions that crossed my mind reading your post.

Re: Flea Control in Bee Yard.

I double treated the area today in question right after the rain with granules. Must have started working because I wasn't seeing them by tis afternoon. Probably will have to re-treat soon.

    Re: Is it possible?

I sugar rolled two hives and counted 1 mite. I treated anyway and found some on the board. I didn't know I needed to leave it in more than 24 hours. The second treatment was yesterday morning and I...

Really? First sentence of original post.

Just checked the board and it did have bracts on it covering the entire board. The greatest concentration was near the entrance of the hive 2" in from the hive entrance. The bracts must be brought in...

    Re: Antenna casts of pupation

Here we go. Saw this somewhere tonight. I think they are bringing back the bracts as they work bahia grass. It must come in inadvertantly on their bodies. 12906

No, it is bees. It is a lot of individual sounds all at once from more than one hive. Sounds like popcorn but at a quicker rate. I would upload the sound file I have, but can't figure out how to...
