    Duncan,

    I see three medium hives in almonds every year but deeps are a standard. You could rent out 3 medium hives but with other brokers. As long as you have good bees, you wont have a problem.

    If the land owner hired them to kill off the bees then they had legal right to. All they got to say is they were africanized. Call the company and they should return your stuff... hence why they left...

    Bees make you money but a processing facility and storage is a must. You either rent or buy. Renting is a short term solution but getting your own piece of land is a big plus.

    After 2-3 days you wont be able to detect amitraz in wax. It takes bit longer to degrade in honey.

    If the hive is strong, the brood nest should be in the bottom deep. Depending on how much pollen is coming in there should be some capped brood. Find the brood and place the strips in the brood area...

    Apivar doesn't leave residues. The half life of amitraz is very short. Place the strips in the brood area.

    I run this pump I built. Pump a gallon of 20% thinned syrup 55 in 7-8 seconds. 4 hp honda. Instead of running the pressure relief line back into tote, I have it running back into the main line.
