    why do you want to put them on new foundation?

    when you say a mess, is it that it is hard to get the frames out,, or have they drawn comb in such a way that you cannot even inspect?

    many of us here in the south put our hives in full sun,, bees keep it cool enough, and it helps with keeping hive beetles in check

    cut it off where it is attached at the top, then with big rubber bands that stretch completely around the frame,, slide the comb in the position you want it to be,, the bees will straighten it up...
