    Re: Touched bear fence

I have to agree with Brad Bee.
I had trouble with my electric fence with a similar problem and I fixed it that way.

(Of course you are taking advise from someone who as a teenager was dared to...

    Re: Devastated...

I had about the same thing happened to 2 of my hives last year. By the looks of what I saw it was a BAR. Racoons or Skunks usually leave scratch marks on the front of the hive by the entrance. I...

Re: Pseudo Name on Bee Source

Mine is the name of my apiary, "Dad & Son's Bees". If I had known that my son wouldn't have anymore interest in it than he does I would have come up with, "Dad's Bees" or maybe "Only the Lonely"...

    Re: New spring traps

In my area of the US I would never use frames with pollen it attracts SHB ( small hive beetles).
I also would not use frames with newer comb due to wax moth infestation.

    Re: Dead Out Numbers/Winter Losses

Re: we won a hive tonight.

Yeah Harley, I have eaten so much crow I have developed a taste for it. Again, make memories with your beekeeping daughter. Be safe, live long and prosper. ;)

  17. Re: Might be a silly question....where you process honey

Yeah PirateShipp, I'm pretty much on my own. The wife does help with extraction, bottling and selling honey, lip balm and skin cream. He will come around, if my wife did I'm pretty sure he will.
  18. Re: Might be a silly question....where you process honey

My wife has no problem letting me use the garage, she says that's the only time I clean it.:D.
I would use my two car garage workshop but too much sawdust and junk to move and clean.
    Tell him it's...
  19. Re: Might be a silly question....where you process honey

If your concern is the number of bees coming to your processing area. It doesn't (in my opinion) really matter, no matter where you do it the girls will find you. I process my honey roughly 75 feet...

  24. Re: This has got to be laying workers...now what?

Re: Escape Boards - sensational - NEW

[QUOTE=rwlaw;1230615]Ooooh, put me in for fifty large for a prototype. We'll put a mini camera in the hive and take bets on how quick they'll propolize the moving parts shut.
