    Re: Who needs Botox?

I have been stung lots of times, even in the face and I have never reacted like that. May be worth having an epipen close.

    Cleaning bees wax

My cappings are a little damp with honey yet. Would it be OK to set them out for the bees to clean up?

    Thanks

    Re: Plastic or wax?

In my opinion and experience (only two years) it depends on the time you are putting it in. I ran both this year. As long as they wanted to draw comb plastic was fine. But my bees seemed to take to...

Re: How to filter honey before placing into jars

I used the three filters that came with the bottling bucket. Left a little wax that floats to the top after a few days. Ended up with a small amount in the bottles but no one is complaining.

Re: Goldenrod and whats it worth.

Last year fall was good here also. There is a lot of goldenrod getting ready to go. Not sure if it is going to be like last year though.

Re: Goldenrod and whats it worth.

The two lower deeps look good. This hive has done well all year. It had three supers and I took two. All three were fully capped two weeks ago.

Re: Extractor advice for a friend

I went through this choice over the last few weeks. I spent the money on a 9 frame radial. I have extracted 3, 5 gallon buckets of honey with it. Yes a lot of money but I am set now and it is fast...

    Re: First ever extraction today

I took off the rest of what I could today. I could not take 4 supers due to brood in them. I got a full bucket today, my third for the year. I am done for this year.

  17. Re: Long range forcast for another nasty cold winter in central-southeast states, rat

I was born and raised in the mid west. I have never seen such a cool summer as this year. I am afraid we are in for another long and extremely cold winter. I plan to add extra insulation to my hives.

They actually have some nectar in some sells and just a few capped cells already. Any problem with storing the way they are?

    Re: First ever extraction today

Thanks all, I pulled the supers today after letting them clean them up. Simply amazing! After two days they have repaired all of the comb on every frame. All looks new and ready to store goods.
