    Good on you for wanting to the best thing for your bees! I would maybe consider switching to 2:1 syrup for Fall, but if they are pretty full you should be just helping them stay topped off.

    I would think you would need to inspect the brood box to see if there is other brood laid up by the queen. I would move the foundationless box under the supers and see if they will continue to use...

    I think you did great, better than i think i wouldv'e, on such big hives as newbeeks. You live an learn and most things are fixable. getting them moved into new boxes and frames will be a challenge...
