    This is comb in an open wall, of a vacant house. There is a cluster of bees present but I was told (second hand) that they had been sprayed and killed a year or so ago and the hive was reinhabitted ...

    Poisened comb uses?

    If comb is suspected to have been sprayed with poison what, if any, uses would you feel comfortable using it for?

    I moved my nucs a few miles away and am also feeding them. The reason I moved them is to try and protect them from my larger hives. I hope it works, I haven't gotten to check them this week.

    My SBB are always open, even in the winter. Ventilation is also very important in the winter because of potential condensation.

    Unfortunately we have had a rash of "free bee removal" ads in craigslist over the last year or two. This adds to the belief that they are "doing us a favor".
