If you read page 4 you will see that I was trying oa at that time, just testing it. I only had about 50 hives then, 500 +/_ now and still testing. Same way every year, when I find out if it works...
I think matt1954 did the right thing. But they are your bees.
That's all I know about that.
On Tuesday I attended the Delta Bee Club meeting, mostly to hear Dr. Eric Mussen speak. There was also a bee broker who spoke. It seems that bees are long at this time, contracts are being undercut,...
Thanks Red, that was one of my grandfather's favorite sayings
u r rite :applause:
I quit doing cherries about 5 years ago. It's the # of hives in Calif in March. If you are from one of the cold states are you going to take those big hives back home and put them in the snow? Or let...
You guys aren't in Calif. $35 is about all you will get for cherries after almonds, and you will most likely get sprayed.
Thanks David, Mann Lake's Terra-Pro didn't do much for snot brood.
Not most. Just the noisy ones. I would bet more bees are treated than not. :lookout:
tylan does"nt work for EFB but does work for AFB for EFB you need terramycin jm2c
I pass through Jefferson every year. I would like to move there, I think I would fit in just fine.
  Thanks Well done!
It's the Christmas tree lights that make the oranges so good. Did you see that old skinny white dog of her's? Yes, very nice family.
Try this. http://www.beesource.com/forums/showthread.php?266759-Sunflowers&highlight=pollinating+sunflowers
I'll go for that. A very nice lady that's been bees for a very long time lives in Oakdale. Taught me how to raise queens. Any one else know Mrs. G?
Didn't we do this a long time ago,in a land far far away? come on Rader you can find it.
I saw a demo of that thing last year, looked easy, put it all in the back of a pickup and go. $3000, but oa is cheap.Wondered how they worked on mites. You say not so good?
Only thing I can think of is in a wet year there is more to choose from. I have heard this from more than one old keeper some with 1000s of hives and I have found it to be true, why I don't know.
Thanks for the offer on the buckeye trees, but I have more than I want. My point was (and you may have missed it as I had my hat on)was in a drought year buckeye is about the only thing that blooms.
Last year the only thing blooming in Calaveras co. was buckeye, and it hit my bees hard. 2014 looks to be worse. Merced co water dist has announced 0% water allotment for some areas. It don't look...
Yes, but if he keeps his bee keeping hat on no one will know.:)
Just kidding, I couldn't pass that one up.
"And try not to enjoy yourself too much—the IRS uses “personal pleasure” as evidence you’re just a hobbyist,"
So, I gotta quit having so much fun?
In the past more than one GOOD beekeeper has stopped posting after being raged on by those that knew it all. Hope it doesn't keep happening.
