    Are hardwood bars necessary.
    I made up some out of spruce today.
    1 1/4 wide 19 long 1.5 deep with a 3/4 deep V cut on the bottom tabs are 3/4 that rest on the side.

    Yes I hear you have to be on top of things to be successful. However it is my understanding that most overwinter. The packages are 160 I believe, so it's quite a loss to not overwinter.
