Still unable to find plans...
I looked for about an hour, no dice... also checked google, found nothing this nice :)
Can you give a little detail / dimensions on how you built this? Looks like a cut 2x4 for the sides? Amazing work from scratch.
This is my first winter, so this might be normal...?
I am in Indiana - it snowed a few days ago and we still have snow on the ground. Today's temps were 34 - 36*. I checked this hive about 3...
Actually I meant a 2x4 stand for each hive... Do most of you build one long 'stand' and just sit the bottom board on them?
Last year I had a hive stand break apart and almost collapse. This is one I had purchased.
So this year I am making them from 2x4's instead of 1x's. Has anyone else had this issue with a hive...
Yes, use the right parts.
I dont do top entrances because of wax moths. I use an inner cover, with the hole covered by #8 mesh. I kill one to two wax moths everytime I open the telescoping cover.
My mentor told me to put #8 screen over the top entrance of my hives. The idea being that the bees (newer colony from a split this year) would only need to protect one entrance this way. Also he...
This is very cool! I will be making a set asap. Thank You for sharing! :applause:
So mann lake lure is lgo?
Eisky - I used two cotton balls w lgo inside a sandwich bag with a few holes in it to keep it fresh.. so if one drop was the norm then mine will be high on lgo
Mike - I read ur not to open the lure envelope? So how would u split it?
I just ordered a few packets from Mann Lake. Any thoughts? I set mine with Lemongrass, which got instant response. Will the Synthetic Queen Pheromone do the same?
keep us updated
Mr2bs. That is awesome! Leep us updated
In a remote farming area I aet four traps today. When baiting them all at the same time with lemongrass bees started showing up. Within five mins of baiting the boxes the first bees arrived. Once...
I would hope you could find one that is made in America. Looks like that one is in China and takes from 2 to 6 weeks to arrive.
I mean one regular deep for the bottom and then two half width supers that can be removed one at a time on the top.
This is very helpful Mike! when you rabbet the bottom 10 frame, do you just center the 1inch board? I would assume there is a little overlap at the top where the two supers meet in the middle,...
got that. what dimensions are u using for the seperate supers on top?
I am still not finding an actual schematic... or woodworking plan for these. I am sold on the idea, but need dimensions to build them.
anyone have plans / photos / etc for a double nuc with removeable supers, feeders, bboards, inner covers etc? I saw a thread awhile back but cannot find it now.
