    You can just put the queen and the bees in there. I have done it. That is basically what happens in a new hive with a package.

    I just find sticks about the right diameter and stick them in the entrance. I have also cut wood pieces that fit.

    These are first year hives started from 3lb. Wolf Creek packages on March 31st.
