Re: How Do You Spell Honey?

Not a good year here, late and dry spring with more than one late hard freeze. Started spring with 2 hives, will get one medium super from the two.

Re: Why are people moving away from SBB

Just a thought, but I have moved away from SBB due to thinking that there was too much light in the brood box. Noticed that the bottom box frames would be mostly unused, since no SBB now, all the...

Re: The Miracle of Going Foundationless!

Have you tried wiring the middle holes on the frames for added stability, or is it not worth the time and effort to do that?

Lavender essential oil, get mine from Young Living. Kills pain on contact, doesn't stop swelling though.

Re: Land Managment for your bees

How did the Tulip Poplar do on your previous land? Planted 3 in NE Oklahoma, couldn't keep any of them alive.
  13. Re: what are the yellow webby feet my bees have ?

I second the Milkweed idea. I've seen it on my bees in the past, was told Milkweed pollen is both sticky and stringy and will stick to their feet.

Bees are also attracted to the salt in blood. Always wondered if they would feed on salt and mineral blocks left out for cattle and deer?
