    Re: Worry wart neighbors!

My house is in a subdivision divided into acre lots, I have to deal with those neighbors daily.

Our farm is 235 acres and is bordered by family which is great, a 40 acre lot owned by a group from...

    Re: cedar hives 90% done

    Re: cedar hives 90% done

    Nice work.

You might try something other than varnish. I treated the first Red Cedar Hive I built with spar varnish, and it did not last one season, the finish that is.

    I presently use a deck...

    Re: Worry wart neighbors!

I like the neighbor that denied that the weiner dog in my live trap I was carrying back to his house was his. He took ownership real quick as I walked down to his pond to toss the dog and trap in to...

    Re: Beekeeper Smell

I always give the suit a few puffs of smoke from the smoker. If the suit takes a few hits and has stingers in it, I really smoke those spots.

They really seem to ignore the vinyl gloves I use.

Re: I need pics of pets near hives

I had some game cam pics of cats around my hives. I trapped all of the feral ones and deleted the pics.
  9. Re: You Know Its Time To Buy a Hivetool Holder...

Just find a big magnet and drop it in a pocket. Then let the tool stick to it.

Skunks love baby rabbits and eat them like candy. They keep the rabbit pop in check.

Re: The Birds and the Bees...

Dad came home the other day with a new Martin House. His plan was mounting it on a pole out in the flight path of my two display hives.

Took him a few minutes to figure out why I was aggravated.
  16. Re: If gas prices stay low ($2/gal. aver.) what impact will it have for you as a BKP

I can toss gas on old equipment instead of used motor oil to burn it.

    Re: Roaches

They still hang out in cedar hives so "cedarcide" would probably not make a difference. Roaches are nasty critters and I don't really want them around any food production. I always assumed they are...

Re: Cedar Chips in a Storage Unit

I killed a tarantula I caught one time by keeping it in cedar shavings. I picked it up on the side of the road and put in an aquarium, fed it crickets. The thing started smelling, so I bedded the...
  25. Re: When will I ever learn? CAUTION! not for the faint of heart. Nailer accident.
