    Re: Cleansing Flights.

I, too, was going to ask a similar question. Here in Minnesota we had our first reasonably warm day in months yesterday. I went to check the hives today and was a bit surprised at how many dead bees...

    Re: nis_sales on Ebay

Actually, I also ordered a refractometer from that company and had the same experience, but eventually received an email from the owner who said he had been tied up with a personal matter and was not...

Re: Who stole my honey account?

Good luck finding any--seems like they have disappeared from the face of the earth!

Re: Who stole my honey account?

Sorry if this was brought up in an earlier post, but I'm taking a cue from a local producer and going with fancier containers and up-charging on that, rather than worrying about price per weight unit...

    Honey = Cough Med

Mayo Clinic (my employer) recently published the following:

    Honey: An effective cough remedy?
A recent study suggests that honey may help calm coughs.

    Re: Honey in carry-on baggage?

Well, guess that pretty much decides it! Sounds like the USPS will be getting some honey shipping business.

    Thanks to all who responded!

    Honey in carry-on baggage?

Does anyone know if I can get a 1.5 pound (or any size) of honey in a plastic bear past the TSA when going through airport security? Would hate to try it and have it end up in the trash--I worked too...

    Re: Switcheroo

Thanks to both of you for your replies. Switching out frames sounds a whole lot easier than switching the entire hives, so think I will start with that.

The queen seems to be doing her job--lots...

    Switcheroo

I have two hives about three feet apart. One is either on the verge of or has reached overpopulation (have added one honey super already, and will be putting on second today). The other is totally...

    Greetings from SE. Minnesota

Best describe me as "dumb, but happy" so far with my new beekeeping adventure. Got a late start this spring and couldn't find anyone who still had packaged bees, so found someone an hour away selling...

Re: Bees "clumping" at and above entrance

Thanks for the quick response! Good point about the queen cells--I have never seen any in either of my hives.

Thanks again--I'm starting to feel a bit less stressed.

Bees "clumping" at and above entrance

This is from a newbie, so I am hoping that my situation is normal and not something to worry about. In short, this last Friday evening I noticed bees were clinging to the front of my lower brood box...
