    Problem is that if you don't you'll likely get successive cast/secondary swarms containing virgin queens...

    You could always place a frame with a QC in a nuc box to give yourself a 'double chance'...

    Here's a tip: staple some chicken wire onto your empty frames and just press in the cut comb before putting them in a new deep/brood box. It'll hold the natural combs just fine and the bees will fill...

    Try spraying or misting the undrawn foundation with 1:1 syrup. Once they've walked all over it and it has their scent they'll be more inclined to draw it out.
