Yea, I'll be following this thread as well. I just got finished reading Swarm essentials as well and will read it again.

It's in the 20's here and snowing. I can't wait for warmer weather to get...
  2. Re: More Beekeepers Sour on Profession as Winter Die-Offs Continue- WSJ Article

Very interesting article that most, even the small hobbyist beekeepers are aware of. But it's always good to educate the unknowing.

Be very careful if you get involved in disposing of this nest. Hornets are notorious for protecting their hives and their stings hurt like #@%+!

    Re: logs

I'm currently using Hive Tracks. It's free for the basic version and easy to use.

But you have to be disciplined to come back in(or take a laptop with you) and log the info into the program.

Re: Brad gun and size brads for wedges

Back to your original question MM, I use the 5/8" 18 gauge brads as mentioned earlier. Accidently used the 3/4" one time and they come through the top of the frame

The thing about HF tools is that...

I like them both. Both well constructed and fit a need. I have several things I want to build in my shop in the garage but it's like below zero right now. Hard to get motivated.

Re: what is a 10 frame slotted rack for

I used slotted racks on 2 of my 3 hives this year. I had one hive swarm, yep the one without the slotted rack. Don't know if it was because of the slotted rack or not, but it makes

I'm like snl, I've already done everything I can, feed, insulate and cover. Now just time to wait it out and pray they make it through. Plus I'm guessing there's a lot of winter

Re: Is this warped foundation ruined
