Re: Trap-out and time of year

The home owners aren't in a particular hurry to have the hive removed, so I do have the luxury of picking my time. It sounds like the May-June time frame would be best.

    Trap-out and time of year

I have been asked to remove an established hive from a tree, and I was wondering if there was a particular time of year that was best for doing a trap-out.

    Honeybees working Ironweed

I have a section of unused pasture (about 2 acres) that I was going to bushhog last week. But after I saw the bees working the Ironweed I decided to put it off until the bloom is over.

    Newspaper or iPad?

    I can...

Re: Absence of honey bees at garden centers...??

It may be that they just don't have anything that attracts honeybees right now. We have a Lowes, Homedepot, and two locally owned nursery/garden centers close to home. I see honeybees at all of the...

Re: Swarm in the same spot for 17 days?

Here's what this swarm built up in three days. A swarm draws out comb very quickly.

    Re: Saturday's Cut-Out

I believe it was easier to pull the siding off than it would have been to try and cut my way through. The vibrations from a saw would have agitated the bees more too.
