    I used the lid for a boardman feeder similar to picture drove about 15 small nails through a 1/4 in plywood board
    does not have to be a paticular pattern, then simply lay that on a mason jar lid...

    Ray it was at least 2 weeks and they were very loud and agressive, after adding 2nd q they calmed down and became very gentle but she apparenly only stayed a couple of week and has dissappeard now

    when you say starter hives what do you mean, nucs, packages or already established hives?
    how many frames of bees, pollen, honey etc was in each hive
    did you inspect hives when you purchased them...
